I contest because I trust in democracy.” He reminded Gandhi that the AIMIM had supported the Congress in undivided Andhra Pradesh and “passed through hell”.
“Has he forgotten that from 1998 to 2008, I supported the Congress and N Chandrababu Naidu attacked me? That came about as a result of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had asked to make some speeches. I actually have passed through hell for them, and now they ask me,” he snapped.
