“You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.” — Edith Head | I am a strong believer in the above quote. Being a fashion blogger/model, I’m used to people telling me that it’s possibly the easiest thing to do and that it isn’t a good option career-wise. I’d say you always find things easy unless you experience them yourself. Fashion isn’t something that I’ve adopted yesterday. I’ve been inclined towards style, fashion, dressing up since forever. It hasn’t been easy. People constantly try to pull you down by telling you things like-
“you’re always overdressed” “this isn’t what educated people do for a living” and that “this only lasts for a short period of time”.
Honestly, all of this only bothers you till you let it. I’m pursuing law alongside but I feel nothing makes me happier than fashion blogging. I believe you must always do what you love doing. Once you decide not to listen to people and do what makes you happy, there’s no looking back.
When you decide to do something out of the box like modeling/ fashion blogging, family support is vital. What the world says doesn’t matter but to have your family by our side to appreciate what you do is all one needs. My family has been an integral part of my journey to becoming a fashion blogger. I’d actually give most of the credit to my father. I believe it is from him, that I’ve got this sense of fashion and urge to dress well. He has always helped me with choosing my clothes. I’ve always been encouraged by my family and their sweet gestures like being ready with the camera to click my pictures when I walk downstairs after getting ready.
I’ve always been fascinated by colors and uniqueness which is pretty much reflected in my dressing style. To be successful, dedication and discipline are a must. I make sure my clothes are decided a day prior to any event and I’m ready before time. There have been times when I’ve been stuck at choosing between two or more outfits. In such situations, OPINIONS slide in to help you. I’m glad to have a lot of sisters and close friends who have always helped me decide my outfits when I couldn’t. One such friend is kritika, she has been my savior this wedding season.
I’d like to now, talk about the man behind me for becoming a fashion blogger. Deepak Dalal (Ddesizn), my friend who had dreamt of becoming a fashion designer ever since he was a child. Deepak (Ddesizn) is 28 years old and is miraculous at designing.
He has left behind a government job to follow his passion. I have witnessed his struggles to achieve what he is today. I have seen him work day and night to turn his dreams into reality. He has magic in his designs. His clothes make me stand out from the crowd.
I have officially been modeling for him and he has a studio of his own named “Ddesizn” now. Ddesizn is the hub of luxury and classic clothing. We’ve had a lot of celebrities like Dilpreet Dhillon at our outlet. Dilpreet Dhillon, in fact, is the brand ambassador of Ddesizn.
People around Narela and Delhi border will no longer have to travel a lot to buy branded stylish clothes. They’ve one-stop for all types of clothes which is Ddesizn. There have been times when people came to Ddesizn outlet with my picture saying they want the same type of clothes. We feel accomplished when such things happen.
To conclude, I’d like to say if you want something, work for it. There will be times when you would feel like giving up is easy but difficult paths often lead to beautiful destinations. I’ve been made fun of for clicking pictures all the time and wearing unique clothes but I took all of this positively and made it my strength. I feel extremely proud of myself to have chosen this path against all odds.
